Description

Our round cabochons are cut beautifully deep for extra durability, and come with an excellent finish.

This set contains the following round cabochon cut mother of pearl doublets:

• Peridot 5mm – 2 pieces
• Peridot 4mm – 2 pieces
• Citrine 6mm – 2 pieces
• Citrine 5mm – 2 pieces
• Citrine 4mm – 2 pieces
• Amethyst 6mm – 2 pieces
• Amethyst 5mm – 2 pieces

All of these stones are eye clean and come with perfectly flat backs, and a beautiful polish.  These gemstones are not calibrated sizes.

Whilst we try to make sure stones are relatively close to each other, as a natural stone, and cut by hand, we can’t guarantee any exact matches.

Doublets

While the top gives a beautiful polish and colour, the mother of pearl backing gives these gemstones an almost magical glow, and makes them no drama at all when you need to make a closed back setting.

The stones are created in much the same way as opal doublets, with a fine layer of epoxy cementing the two layers together. Because of the epoxy, it is important not to heat the stone (hot water is fine for when using thermoplastic for setting) and not to soak the stones in acetone / denatured alcohol. It is also advisable not to use a steam cleaner or ultrasonic with these stones.

Although these stones have been custom made to our specifications, our manufacturer of these stones has made similar doublets for many large, high end silver jewellery designers in the past, so you can rest assured of the quality.

Shipping

We will ship from our studio in Malaysia within 4 working days. Parcels are expected to take around two to three weeks to arrive if you live in major cities in the US or UK, but they can take longer for the rest of the world and remote locations. While we ship everything via DHL Express, we cannot guarantee that shipments will arrive within any time frame, but please do contact us if you haven’t received your parcel after 6 weeks and we’ll happily look into it.
